Career Guidance Policies: global dynamics, local resonances

Professor Ronald Sultana will present the 11th annual iCeGS lecture on Tuesday 16th December 2008, 2.00pm to 4.30pm at the University of Derby.

What makes a successful guidance service in a fractured community? In times of turbulent change it is good to learn from international practice. Ronald Sultana, Professor in Educational Sociology and Comparative Education at the University of Malta, will present the 11th iCeGS Annual Lecture and also take part in an ‘Audience with iCeGS’. Professor Sultana is currently investigating and supporting the development of guidance services in Palestine and Lebanon.

The lecture will be followed by ‘An audience with iCeGS: Guidance and effective communities’. This will give audience members the chance to question and debate with a panel of distinguished experts:

  1. Marie Brett, Adult Services Manager, Connexions Tyne and Wear and iCeGS Practitioner Fellow
  2. Steve Stewart OBE, Chief Executive of Coventry Solihull & Warwickshire Partnerships Ltd, and iCeGS Practitioner Fellow
  3. Professor Ronald Sultana
  4. Professor Tony Watts, Visiting Professor, iCeGS, University of Derby

There is no charge for attending this event, however places are limited and you should book your place as early as possible. More information on the annual lecture, the audience with iCeGS and a booking form is available at:
