Regional subject advisers for PSHE Education
The PSHE Association is one of ten national subject associations working with CfBT education trust and ASPECT (Association of Professionals in Education and Children's Trusts) to deliver subject-specific support to schools and advisers for PSHE education (personal well-being; economic well-being and financial capability), citizenship, history, geography, design & technology, languages, art & design, physical education, religious education and music in the new secondary curriculum.
Support will continue to be delivered through a network of National Subject Leaders (NSL) (through the subject associations) and a field force of Regional Subject Advisers (RSAs) for each of the ten subjects. For PSHE education there is a team of RSAs in each region comprising expertise in personal wellbeing (PWB) and economic wellbeing and financial capability (EWBFC) The PSHE education RSAs work for approximately 2 days per month and are a mix of teachers and advisers. Many of the advisers are Healthy Schools Coordinators or PSHE CPD Leads; others come from a careers or business and enterprise background. RSAs are expected to engage with LA colleagues to enhance regional and local capacity to support schools with PSHE education. RSAs will also be networking with business / enterprise / careers / economic education colleagues, replicating what is currently starting to happen nationally.
