National Evaluation of Diplomas: Preparation for 2008 Delivery
This report shows that consortia have clearly learnt a great deal about promotion, recruitment and IAG from the preparations for Phase 1 of Diploma delivery.
The first evaluation report on the implementation of Diplomas has just been published. It covers the preparations for the delivery of the first five lines of learning in 2008. You can download the report from here (PDF). Section 5 reports that the Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) for young people, and for parents and staff who play a key role in advising young people, varied and there was scope for greater consistency across and within consortia. The majority of learners did not recall receiving key information about Diplomas and it was evident that some were basing their decision on whether to take a Diploma or not on a limited and sometimes inaccurate understanding of the qualification. |
