Public consultation events on the Advanced Level Diploma in Science 3rd March - 4th May 2010
The Diploma in Science is being designed to give young people a foundation in scientific theory and the practical skills necessary to meet the global challenges of tomorrow. Developed in partnership with employers, education and key stakeholders the Diploma will provide students with the confidence and enthusiasm to pursue careers involving science either directly through work or additional qualifications. The Diploma in Science will provide:
- work-related learning
- a multidisciplinary approach to problem-solving
- innovative teaching, learning and assessment
- a focus on practical/investigative work to develop scientific and mathematical skills

The dates and venues for the regional events are:
3 March 2010 – The Moller Centre, Cambridge
9 March 2010 – The Crown Plaza, Liverpool
19 March 2010 – Jumeirah Carlton Tower, London
23 March 2010 – Mercure Holland House, Bristol
13 April 2010 – The Techno Centre, Coventry
15 April 2010 – National College for Leadership Nottingham
20 April 2010 - City Inn, Leeds
22 April 2010 – Radisson SAS, Durham
Who should participate?
Representatives from awarding bodies, colleges, schools, universities, employers and other organisations interested in shaping the new Diploma in Science are invited to participate in the consultation.
