New online careers resources for young people
Several new websites have been launched or are about to launch that aim to inspire young people in their careers.
Futuremorph is a new website that provides careers information across all STEM jobs and also, unusually, jobs from science qualifications (as opposed to just in science). Futuremorph is part of the STEM campaign which includes resources on the Bebo site (http://www.scienceandmaths.net/).
Big Ambition from e-skills is a collection of some 40 videos of people working in IT.
‘icould’, developed by CRAC: the Career Development Organisation, is aiming to complement existing careers support by simply enabling young people to see how real people have ended up in their jobs, thereby showing what is possible and how. The website plans to go live in early spring with approaching 1,000 films, from storytellers as diverse as a cemetery supervisor to Richard Branson. |
