Review of the equality implications of CEIAG for young people

They will conduct an in-depth review of subject, careers information, advice and guidance (for 7 - 16 year olds) to identify the impact of policy and practice on young people's post-16 destinations and career choices across the equality strands.

The work will involve a range of activities:

  • A review of policy and published evidence to examine which groups access CEIAG, and the extent to which it promotes equality and human rights for all
  • A survey of equality and diversity officers in Connexions services and local authorities to reveal further evidence and good and interesting practice
  • Interrogation of national datasets
  • Case studies to explore partnership and the delivery of CEIAG to further source good and interesting practice

This research project forms the first stage of evidence gathering to inform the Commission's IAG and equality agenda. iCeGs would like to hear from anyone:

  • whose job responsibilities cover CEIAG and equality and diversity
  • who has written about any work of potential interest to the review
  • whose local partnerships promote good practice and could be a case study
