QCG Funding
Funds are available to support students employed or sponsored by organisations receiving Connexions funding to undertake the Qualification in Careers Guidance (QCG).
The objectives of the funds are to stimulate diversity and widen participation – there is a need for securing a diverse workforce which accurately reflects the needs of the client group. The Institute of Career Guidance (ICG) will be managing the funding arrangements on behalf of the DCSF and organisations receiving Connexions funding are now invited to bid for places – direct to Sue Holden at the ICG. The closing date for applications is 15 August 2008 and organisations are asked to give provisional indication to ICG of whether they intend to bid as soon as possible. Organisations receiving Connexions funding are asked to bid for places against set eligibility criteria to ensure that funds make the best possible contribution to encouraging diversity and widening participation. Bidders will want to consider how to identify candidates who match the criteria and are encouraged to work with local VCS organisations to identify potential candidates. Please see www.icg-uk.org/qcgfunding.html for more information on applying including an application pack.
