The DCSF IAG Strategy is now expected to be launched in the autumn term.

Impartial careers education – supplementary statutory guidance

 

DCSF is publishing statutory guidance to assist schools to fulfil their duties in relation to the careers education requirements of the Education and Skills Act 2008 and to provide practical help on implementation. This will include principles of impartial careers education, details of the Key Information that careers education programmes in schools will be expected to provide on post 16 learning pathways and materials that will help schools to deliver the Principles/Key Information.

Stereotyping by peers, parents, professionals and the media continue to reinforce the notion that boys do one thing and girls another. Connexions Nottinghamshire and the Sector Partnership for the Diploma in Society, Health and Development are using puppets to break down stereotyping.
