How Young People Formulate their Views about the Future - Exploratory Research
The research also looked at what is most likely to affect their thinking and to consider the most effective ways we can equip young people with the skills to make the optimal decisions.
Focus group workshops were held with year 7s in 27 schools in three areas of the country. A total of 610 young people participated in the study and were from a range of ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds and with differing ability levels. Sessions included group discussions and written tasks. Findings combined statistical analysis of data from the written tasks with the feedback from class discussions with the pupils.
